Samyang Ranch (also called Eco Green Campus) is composed of a large green pasture spread out on a plateau in Pyeongchang mountains, and the place is so vast that trying to walk the entire area would be fairly difficult!
Still, thanks to the shuttle bus who travels to the observatory at the peak of the ranch, you will be able to enjoy the breathtaking view of the entire place. The image of the grass slowly swaying in the wind with the wind turbines spinning in the background is truly beautiful. The ranch is home to cows, sheep and ostriches who peacefully graze and walk over the pasture. But of course, they are not out during the colder season.
There is a noodle store who also sells ice cream, milk and cheese and products made with the sheep wool.
The ranch shuttle bus to get to the observatory operates from 30th April to mid-November.
Admission fees: Adults 8 000 won, kids 6 000 won
Opening hours (spring and summer season): 8h30-17h~17h30
How to get there: Take a bus at Dong Seoul Bus Terminal (Gangbyeon station, Exit4) to Hoenggye, then take a taxi to Eco Green Campus.
I recommend to take a drink with you, as the walk down can be quite long if you decide on not taking the shuttle bus back.
