Danyang is located in North Chungcheong Province which is about a 2.5 hour drive from Seoul. Paragliding in Korea – Danyang vs. Yangpyeong

In Korea, there are 2 famous spots for paragliding, which are Danyang and Yangpyeong. The difference between the two spots is mainly the view (which is pretty important when paragliding). Danyang is located in the middle of beautiful rivers surrounded by majestic mountains. Yangpyeong, located in Gyeongi province mainly provides views on forests and parts of Seoul, which is not bad, but simply isn’t as stunning as Danyang.

The course

It might seem scary gliding through the air down the over 644m high Yangbang mountain. While it takes about 5 minutes to reach the ground, it will be 5 spectacular minutes! If you want to keep those memories forever, you can choose to buy a GoPro video of your trip through the air.

What is the best time of year to experience this adventure? I want to plan a trip to Korea around it. Also the information given here says that it’s for the ages between 4 and 70. However next year I will be 73. I’m in great physical shape and have gone paragliding twice in the past year in Hawaii. Also, I walk regularly, still do half marathons and have even gone skydiving and ziplining. So can the age limit be waived? I would very much love to experience paragliding in Danyang. I look forward to hearing from you.
