Symbol of Seoul, the N Seoul tower is visible for kilometers around and offers a stunning view over the city.
Built in 1969, the N Seoul Tower was originally a telecommunications tower. But it quickly turned into tourist monument for the view it offers on the megalopolis. Seems like its height coupled with its location atop Mount Namsan made her a perfect fit for the role.
It opened for the first time to the public on 15 October 1980. Towering on the Namsan mountain, 262 meters high, this building 236 meters was often called the “tallest tower in Asia.” Seoul Tower, which enjoys such a reputation with tourists for almost 30 years, was redesigned and became more beautiful than ever. Due to these changes, it’s only on 9 December 2005 that the tower reopened to the public following its closure for renovation. It at the same time changed its name and is now called “N-Seoul Tower,” N Namsan referring to the Mountain where it is located and for “New.” The most visible and dramatic change of this new tower is its illuminations, which alone absorbed a tenth of the total budget.
Depending on the season and the various events, the Tour is adorned with lights of different colors and various patterns, providing Seoul inhabitants a real light show. Indeed, every night from 19:00 to midnight, six projectors create an incredible show – themed the “Flowers of Seoul” -having blooming flowers through a complex set of light beams. In the lobby of the tower are the “Media Zone” where you can watch trailers and clips, children’s discovery room and a function room for shows and exhibitions. The revolving restaurant Western-type “n. Grill “on the 4th floor with a panoramic 360-degree view of the city of Seoul and the toilet” Sky “(the highest in the city )the second floor overlooking the city are essential. There are also restaurants, cinemas, and theaters. Following its renovation, the N-Seoul Tower rose from single observatory to a multicultural space.
Today this tower delights its visitors with beautiful views of Seoul and its surrounding area from the observation deck. Climb to the top of the tower and admire the 360 ° view from the observatory. Admission tickets are sold at a stand on the outside of the tower. At the observatory, you will find several restaurants.
Besides the breathtaking views, it offers, the N Seoul Tower holds many other surprises. Notably with its Bear Museum and its bear collection.
Couples often enjoy to hang their lock on the rooftop terrace of N Plaza, to promise their eternal love to each other. In addition, they launch pieces in a heart shape in the Basin greeting the tower.
The tower is often lit at nightfall by seasonal lighting effects. Admire them from the Namsan itself, or from the street that stretches to his feet. Anyway, do not forget your camera!
The N Seoul Tower is open all year until late evening. Therefore we advise you to postpone your visit if the sky is overcast because it will spoil the view.
How to get to N Seoul Tower:

Firstly, the easiest way to get to the top of the tower is to take the cable Namsan, which ensures regularly scheduled service from Hoehyeon-dong. It takes only three minutes to go up and take you close to the N Seoul Tower.
– Myeongdong Station (Seoul Subway Line 4), Exit 3. Take the road to the right of Pacific Hotel and walk for about 10-min.
– From Hoehyeon Intersection (Myeongdong & Hoehyeon Subway Stations of Seoul Subway Line 4) walk towards Namsan Tunnel #3 and take the free Namsan Oreumi elevator to the cable car station.

Lastly, you can also reach N Seoul Tower by taking a ride on the Seoul City Tour bus, which has a longer route than the circulatory bus.

Access to N Seoul Tower by cars or taxis is restricted to reduce the environmental impact on Namsan Park. If you come by car, you should consider parking at a lot near one of the Namsan shuttle bus stops.
