Gyeongju Anapji Pond
Located in the historical city of Gyeongju, the Anapji Pond was built in 674 after the unification of the Korean Peninsula.
Beautiful trees and flowers, as well as rare birds and animals, were brought from all over to the islands and hills surrounding the pond. Also, a number of pavilions were constructed around it and used for state festivals and banquets and as a prince’s palace.
Nowadays, the Anapji Pond is an excellent example of garden and lake construction of the Silla Kingdom Period. And whether you go there on a breezy autumn day, a freezing winter day, a warm spring morning, or a hot summer evening, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the scenery and the unbelievable harmony of the pond and the architecture surrounding it.
